(Q) Admissions: How does my child apply?
A: Students can apply online. They can also call the Admissions Office at 800-452-0996 and request an application.
(Q) Admissions: What is application deadline?
A: Eastern operates on rolling admissions, which means there are no application deadlines.
(Q) Admissions: Can an application fee be waived?
A: Yes. All online applications fees are waived.
(Q) Admissions: When will my son or daughter receive access to their my.eastern.edu page?
A: Shortly after applying, the Admissions Office will send your son or daughter information on how to access their my.eastern.edu page. This is where they will go to track the status of their application, see their financial aid, gain class registration information and pay their bill. Do not lose the username/password that will be mailed to your child.
(Q) Admissions: When can we visit?
A: Generally, you can visit year round, either for a personal visit or a larger open house. Visit EU, soon.

(Q) Admissions: What is the weather like on campus?
A: The Greater Philadelphia area experiences all four seasons. It can get pretty cold in the winter, and, in recent years, it is not uncommon for the are to receive several feet of snow. Summers can be hot and humid, however, our spring semester ends before the warmest of the weather arrives.

(Q) Billing: How do I pay my bill?
A: Eastern University does not send paper bills. You may make credit card payments by accessing CASHNet. To access CASHNet and to view your online bill follow these steps:
- Log in to my.eastern.edu
- Click the Student Records tab
- Click Student Accounts on the left
- Click on Go to CASHNet
- Click on View Bills
(Q) Billing: When is my bill due?
A: Bills are due the 15th of the month prior to the start of the new semester and/or session.
(Q) Billing: When do I receive my bill?
A: Eastern University sends an email alerting students when their bill is viewable through my.eastern.edu. The email is sent to the your Eastern email address. (Eastern University does not send paper bills).
(Q) Billing: How can I have the insurance charged removed from my account?
A: All students must have health insurance. If you are enrolled in an outside insurance plan and do not need the insurance provided by EU, you may opt out of the EU program. Please go to www.firststudent.com and complete the required information. (The charge will be removed from your account.)
(Q) Billing: What happens if I cannot pay my balance on time?
A: A late payment fee of $110.00 will be charged to your account if your account is not paid in full by the beginning of the semester. Each month that your account remains unpaid you will be accessed a 1.5% service charge until your balance is paid in full.
(Q) Billing: Is there a payment plan?
A: Yes. Eastern has partnered with Sallie Mae to provide the option of paying throughout the semester. While enrolled in a Sallie Mae payment plan for your total remaining balance, you will not be charged the late payment fee or monthly service charges.
(Q) Billing: If I have a credit balance on my account, how do I apply for a refund?
A: You may receive either a paper check refund or an e-refund. Paper check refunds are sent to your home address. If you want an e-refund, go to the my.eastern.edu and provide your bank account information so that your e-refund can be deposited directly into your bank account. Please ensure that you accurately indicate your bank account information.
(Q) Billing: May I cash a personal check in the Student Accounts Office?
A: Yes, our office is able to cash your personal checks up to $75.00 each week day. (On the day that students receive federal work study payments, students may cash checks up to $150.00.)
(Q) Billing: Do you accept credit card payments?
A: The Student Accounts Office will accept your VISA payments in our office in St. Davids. American Express, MasterCard and Discover payments are accepted through CASHNet.
(Q) Careers: What help is available for my student if s/he can't decide on a major?
A: Eastern's Career and Calling office offer individual career counseling specifically for helping students choose a major. We also offer interest surveys—such as the Career Exploration Inventory (CEI)—to help students discover areas of interest and what majors might pair well with those areas.
(Q) Careers: When can my student begin using the Office of Careers & Calling?
A: Once a student is enrolled (attending EU), s/he can visit our office to make an appointment with a career counselor, participate in workshops, or look for part-time jobs or internships. Visit Careers and Calling for more information.

(Q) Careers: Internships?
A: Each department (major) has its own crediting procedure for internships. Students should discuss these arrangements with their academic advisor. While for-credit internships are handled by the Internship advisor in respective academic departments and students should coordinate with their advisor, we offer assistance in cultivating an internship search, preparing resumes and cover letters, and prepping for interviews. (Q) Careers: How can parents serve as effective "career coaches" for students?
A: 1. Support your son/daughter as s/he explores and develops interests through co-curricular activities, leadership positions, volunteering and community service, summer jobs, and internships.
2. Encourage your son/daughter to take advantage of all Careers & Calling services: individual career counseling, workshops, job fairs, resume services, resources, etc.
3. Direct your son/daughter to family, friends, and colleagues who are in fields in which your student has an interest. ‘Informational Interviewing’ can be helpful in career exploration. How to ...
4. Consider emailing job openings and internships with your employer to Eastern's Careers & Calling office.
(Q) Financial Aid: How do I apply for financial aid?
- Apply for a PIN number (both student and parent). The PIN will serve as your electronic signatures.
- Complete the FAFSA online. Use your PINs to sign the FAFSA online. Eastern University’s school code is 003259.

(Q) Housing: What does FERPA mean for me as a parent?
A: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) ensures that academic information and non-public personal information may not be released to any unauthorized third party (this may include, but not limited to, other Eastern University employees, families of students, and outside organizations) without the express written consent of the individual student. We take this seriously and want to honor the confidentiality and security of any information (including, but not limited to databases, files, and/or records) in our custody. If your student would like to give access to you the parent or guardian, they may do so by fill out the Student Consent for Parental-Guardian Access Form.
(Q) Housing: When can my child move into the Residence Hall?

(Q) Housing: Does my child need to carry a meal plan?
A: Assuming they are living in residence, then yes, for all College of Arts and Sciences students a meal plan is required. For all students under 25 academic credit hours the Unlimited meal plan option is required.
