Mary T. Boylston, Associate Professor of Nursing and a critical care nurse, has taught in the RN- to- BSN program at Eastern University for 17 years and is completing a doctoral degree in educational leadership at Immaculata College. Fredricka J. Flakes, is a research and training consultant at Florida State University where she pursues a doctoral degree in Instructional Systems Design. She has a long-term interest in tolerance initiatives. (She may be reached at fjf4178@garnet.acns.fsu.edu.)

MaryAnn Matthews, Research Affiliate at Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study
of Slavery, Resistance and Abolition at Yale University, developed the Tangled Roots website. She has presented workshops to regional and national conferences of the National Association of Multicultural Education, school districts, Social Studies conferences, and universities. He received his doctorate in American Religious History from Union Theological Seminary in New York. His present interests include historical perspectives of African American/ Native American relations, the nature of identity formation, and multicultural expressions of religious community (He may be reached at pm47@columbia.edu).
Pamala V. Morris, Ph. D., is currently Assistant Professor and 4-H/Youth Development Specialist in the School of Agriculture at Purdue University. She has been an effective leader in the areas of cross-cultural education and service-learning. , Her primary focus, as a faculty member, has been to inform youth and adults on a national and local level about the changing faces of a global society and to increase their understanding and appreciation of cultural differences and similarities. Kate Murray completed her undergraduate degree at Purdue University in 2000 and in the semester immediately following her graduation assisted in the teaching of two service-learning courses. In addition, she worked for the Purdue ad hoc Task Force on Citizenship Education in a variety of roles, including creating the groundwork for an ongoing proposal for a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC). She currently pursues a Master's degree in Social Work at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. (She may be reached at katebth@hotmail.com.)
John G. Pomery, Ph. D., is Associate Professor of Economics in the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in West Lafayette. Since June 1997 he has chaired the Purdue ad hoc Task Force on Citizenship Education, and in the summer of 1998 he became Community Service Director for the campus. He has taught service-learning courses since Fall Semester 1998 and was an Indiana Campus Compact Faculty Fellow for 1999-2000. (He may be reached at pomeryj@purdue.edu.)
