WHO WE ARE
Eastern is a co-educational, comprehensive Christian university that integrates faith, reason and justice for its 4,400 students. Eastern is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA and has an interdenominational Christian student body, faculty and administration.
MISSION STATEMENT
Eastern is a Christian university dedicated through teaching, scholarship, service, spiritual formation, student development and societal involvement to the preparation of undergraduate, graduate and Seminary students for thoughtful and productive lives of Christian faith and service.
THE COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
Eastern's College of Arts and Sciences offers 35 majors and 34 minors.
THE TEMPLETON HONORS COLLEGE
The Templeton Honors College offers graduate-style undergraduate education for the most academically-gifted students.
THE CAMPOLO COLLEGE OF GRADUATE AND PROFESSIONAL STUDIES
The Loeb School of Education offers adult undergraduate and graduate degrees in education and a variety of teacher certifications.
The School of Management Studies offers accelerated adult undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Business and Leadership.
The School of Leadership and Development offers graduate education in Economic Development and Leadership on five continents.
The Urban Studies Department offers graduate education in Urban Studies with available concentrations in Community Arts, Community Development, and Youth Development.
The Department of Counseling Psychology offers graduate degrees in Counseling and School Psychology.
The Department of Nursing offers relicensure nursing leading to BSN, bachelor’s degrees in Nursing for registered nurses, BSN Two2, an RN refresher course, and a master’s degree in Health Services Management.
OFFICE OF INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES
The Office of Interdisciplinary Studies offers the Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts with an Addiction Studies concentration, and a Doctor of Arts in Marriage and Family.
PALMER THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY
Palmer Theological Seminary offers degrees and programs for women and men serving the church.
ESPERANZA COLLEGE OF EASTERN UNIVERSITY
Esperanza College is Eastern’s junior college which operates in partnership with Nueva Esperanza, Inc. and aims to serve the Latino community in Philadelphia, PA.
HONORS AND RECOGNITION
Alumni and faculty of Eastern University have received the MacArthur Foundation Award, Olaf Palma International Justice Award, Regional Emmy for PBS Documentary, and Lindback Awards for Excellence in Teaching.

HISTORY
Eastern was founded in 1925 as Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. The collegiate division began in 1932 and was chartered as a four-year college in 1952. The college became Eastern College in 1972 and Eastern University in 2001. The Seminary was renamed Palmer Theological Seminary in 2005.

Calendar: A two-semester academic year, fall and spring, with two summer sessions. Adult accelerated and graduate programs offered throughout the calendar year.
