Derek Ritchie, MBA
Derek Ritchie has a deep knowledge of business management and a passion for growing businesses and achieving results. Before coming to Eastern University, Ritchie was the Director of Marketing for Sport Camps Incorporated from 1989 through 1996. He was held responsible for the marketing, sales, and promotion of over 100 sport camps in the United States. Prior to his current position as Vice President for Development, Ritchie had served Eastern University's athletics as the women's basketball coach and by starting and coaching the men's golf team. From 1996 to June 2002, Ritchie was the Director of Alumni Relations at Eastern. In this position, he managed and promoted programs to connect alumni, developed a class representative program, hosted reunions, and hired and managed staff, among other responsibilities. His next role as Director of Development and Major Gifts held him responsible for promoting, advancing, and retaining donors of gifts to the University exceeding $1,000. Since 2007, Ritchie has served the University by managing and overseeing fundraising activities as Vice President for Development. He and his staff of 12 work directly with Eastern University&'s largest donors and trustees to produce gifts and pledges of more than $4 million annually.
Ritchie earned both his B.A. in Business and his M.B.A in Management at Eastern University. He and his wife Kristie have three children. Ritchie is an active member of the Church of the Savior in Wayne, Pennsylvania, where he serves in the children's ministry and a pre-marital program.
