The following protocols are specific to the Athletic Department.
If you test POSITIVE:
FOR ALL:
- Isolation for 5 days
- If symptoms are resolving or no symptoms for at least 24 hours, released on Day 6 but must wear a mask for 5 more days (Day10)
- Day 6 - Day 10, may consider no mask for athletics (on court only) if a negative test is provided
- Athlete must go through a medical clearance with MD/AT Staff as per previous protocol
IF YOU WERE EXPOSED (CLOSE CONTACT TRACED) TO SOMEONE WITH COVID:
- Unvaccinated/Not Fully Vaccinated = did not do it or only one shot of Pfizer/Moderna
- Fully Vaccinated but NOT up to date = did not get a booster shot and eligible (Pfizer/Moderna more than 5 months ago OR J+J more than 2 months ago)
For 1&2
- a. Quarantine for 5 days, released on Day6 and wear a mask for 5 more days (Day10)
- b. Test on Day5 if possible (will do so if you quarantine on campus)
- c. If a (-) test on Day6-Day10, you may stop wearing the mask while engaged in sport activities
3. “Up to Date” Fully Vaccinated AND had a booster = completed your vaccines within the last 5 months (Pfizer/Moderna) OR 2 months (J+J)...OR within the 90 day window of having COVID !
- a. No quarantine
- b. Wear a mask for 10 days around others, except for athletic activities
- c. Test on Day5 if possible
4. Fully Vaccinated or Unvaccinated but tested positive within 90-days
- a. No quarantine
- b. Wear a mask for 10 days around others, except for athletic activities
- c. Test on Day 5 if possible
Masking will not be required while actively participating in athletic training sessions and/or while competing in a collegiate contest.
** Contact tracing will not occur while actively participating in a practice or competition.
All athletic policies will be aligned with the latest CDC/NCAA/MAC recommendations and are fluid as new recommendations are made.
All student athletes who have tested positive for covid (symptomatic/asymptomatic) will be required to perform the following before being cleared to play:
- Completed necessary quarantine
- Have been symptom free for 24 hours
- Have clearance by a physician (cardiac clearance and any further testing will be up to the physician)
