

October is national Youth Justice Awareness (now Action) Month (YJAM). Eastern University is again partnering with the Campaign for Youth Justice in the national effort to raise awareness and inspire action about juvenile justice--especially the cruel practice of incarcerating children in adult jails and prisons.

Since 2008, advocates around the country have come together to organize events to raise awareness and inspire action on behalf of young people impacted by incarceration. ARTISTS WANTED: Are you a poet, singer, dancer, visual artist, rapper, actor, or musician? Share your gift with us. PRIZES will be awarded to the top 2 performers. Winners will be chosen on the basis of the level of awareness raised about criminal justice issues and quality of performance.
