Curriculum Overview

PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy

Degree Requirements  60 credits

  • 42 credits – Core Studies
  • 15 credits – Research Methodology, Dissertation
  • 3 credits – Field Supervision of Counseling

Curriculum Delivery Model

  • Cohort model: Students move through the curriculum as a group. DA and PhD students take core coursework together for the first two years of study.
  • Blended Online and Residency instructional format with a one-week residency of intensive classroom instruction and 14 weeks of online coursework.  Attendance at residency weeks is mandatory.
  • Three terms per year: May-August, September-December, January-April
  • Two courses (6 credits) per term
  • 4 year program of study
