Professor Appling began her college education at Neumann University (formerly Neumann College) and graduated with a BA in psychology. Shortly following graduation, she enrolled in nursing school at Roxborough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. After two years of nursing course work, Professor Appling graduated with a diploma and began working on telemetry/respiratory medical step-down unit. She returned to school to complete her Masters in critical care and emergency nursing under the Clinical Nursing Specialist track while working in critical care as a staff nurse. Following graduation, Professor Appling married and started a family.
Professor Appling obtained her Masters’ degree and began working as an adjunct clinical faculty for the Adult I course at Eastern University and worked full time in education as a nursing instructor for a licensed practical nursing program in Delaware County. In August 2015, Professor Appling was hired as a full-time faculty at Eastern University teaching in both the classroom and clinical setting. She is currently working towards a Ph.D. degree in nursing at University of Phoenix. Anticipated graduation date of December 2017.

I teach academic nursing essentials, nursing research, nursing care of chronic illness, fundamentals of nursing, and health promotion and physical assessment.
