SSWA is the formal structure through which Eastern University social work students are helped to develop the habit of professional participation and activism. SSWA is a student-administered club within both the MSW and BSW programs. A member of the social work faculty serves as the advisor to each SSWA club. Through SSWA, students are able to build a community with other social work students and support one another. This organization offers students fellowship while engaging in service projects, fundraisers, self-care activities, and discussion of current topics of interest to social workers. An additional function of SSWA is to provide input to the Social Work Department in meeting students’ educational and professional needs.
