Cara Blouin

Senior Academic Advisor; Adjunt Professor of Psychology


Cara Blouin serves as Senior Academic Advisor to nontraditional students. She has been an instructor and course designer in General Education at Eastern since 2020, and joined the Psychology department in 2023 as an adjunct professor.  She earned her BA in Directing Theater from Marymount Manhattan College, MBA from Eastern University and MA in Counseling Psychology from Temple University. She completed her internship as the on-staff therapist for direct service providers at Broad Street Ministry in Philadelphia, where she worked with staff and individuals focusing on  burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. She is an LPC in private practice, serves on the curriculum committee at the Gestalt Institute of Philadelphia, and is in her second year of training in Mindfulness Meditation Instruction at MMTCP. Cara began her career in international education, working in the US and China to develop arts-based English language and civics programs aimed at creating social change and currently serves as an instructor of English Language education at Temple IELP.
