EU Nursing Program Receives Top Marks on NCLEX Exams
St. Davids, PA, November 23, 2015: Eastern University is excited to announce that 2015 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates have received a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). The results represent all first time testing candidates from October 2014 to September 2015. This is a tribute to the hard work and the quality of students that come out of the nursing program.
Dr. Dianne DeLong, Nursing Department Chair, has said that “To have such a high pass rate is evidence of the quality of our students’ preparation and EU’s Nursing Program’s commitment to providing outstanding faculty leadership in the classroom, lab and clinical setting and the academic rigor they require for student success.”
NCLEX are developed and administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) every year and must be passed in order to become a licensed nurse in the United States. There are two exams that can be taken: the NCLEX-RN for those students who aspire to become registered nurses and the NCLEX-PN for those who are trying to become practical nurses.
According to the NCSBN, with a passing rate of 100%, the BSN nursing program at Eastern University has a pass rate that is 10.67% higher than all other BSN programs in Pennsylvania and 14.96% higher than all other BSN programs nationally.
The Nursing program at Eastern University prepares students to provide professional and holistic nursing care to patients and integrate Christian values and ethics into their nursing practice. In addition to general nursing education, students have the opportunity to, in higher level nursing course work, focus on a more specific rigorous area of study. As well as being able to take part in hands on clinical experience at regional hospitals, health care facilities and community settings.
