College of Business & Leadership Executive Seminar, October 3

St. Davids, PA, September 29, 2015: Eastern University’s College of Business and Leadership is hosting an Executive Seminar on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. in the McInnis Auditorium on the St. Davids campus at 1300 Eagle Road. The Eastern University Executive Seminar provides an opportunity for the community and MBA students to learn from Philadelphia-area business leaders about relevant issues in business and management. The guest speaker will be Mr. Thomas M. Petro, President and CEO of Fox Chase Bancorp, Inc., who will speak on the topic of Faith Integration in Corporate Leadership.
Dr. Douglas Clark, Dean of the College of Business and Leadership said, “Mr. Petro has earned remarkable credibility as a successful chief executive and effective servant leader. The College of Business and Leadership is delighted to host him as featured presenter for the Executive Seminar.” Tom Petro is an accomplished entrepreneur, banker, angel investor, turnaround specialist and author. He led the turnaround, initial public offering, and transformation of the $1.1 billion asset, 148 year-old Fox Chase Bank from an insolvent sleepy thrift into a growing middle market commercial lending boutique. Fox Chase Bank has achieved an eight year, 32% compound annual growth rate of its commercial lending business under Tom’s leadership. Now serving middle market clients headquartered between NYC and Baltimore, Tom was a 2015 and 2014 finalist for the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year and Fox Chase Bank was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal and SmartCEO as one of the fastest growing companies in the region. Fox Chase Bank is a perennial Top Workplaces winner and winner of the Corporate Philanthropy award.
Tom is Chairman of both the Audit Committee and Investment Committee of Eastern University. He serves by appointment of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors on a national economic advisory council. He also serves on the American Bankers Association Government Relations Council representing banks in Pennsylvania. Tom is past Chairman of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association and is an active angel investor with a particular interest in early stage medical device technologies.
Tom teaches a weekly bible study at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Wayne, PA that has grown to 60 participants. For 31 years Tom has taken a week each summer to spend in total silence and contemplation at a monastery. He resides in Malvern, PA with his wife Kris. Together they bicycle, ski, hike, ballroom dance, and collect wine.
The Executive Seminar program will begin with a networking continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by welcoming remarks and an opening prayer by Dr. Douglas Clark, Dean of the College of Business and Leadership. Eastern University President Robert G. Duffett will introduce Mr. Petro, who, after his presentation, will close the seminar with a time for Q & A. This event is open to the public and there is no admission charge. The Executive Seminar is presented by the Fast-Track MBA® in Management and the Fast-Track MBA® in Health Administration.
