New Preparatory School of Music at Eastern University

St. Davids, PA, August 27, 2012: Eastern University announces its new Preparatory School of Music for children (grades K-12) and adults who want to learn to play a musical instrument. Rachel Kuipers Yonan is the Director of the Preparatory School.

Working with the talented faculty in the Eastern University Music Department, students will study with professional musicians trained at such prominent schools as Curtis and Juilliard, who are not only wonderful performers, but also devoted teachers.

The Preparatory School will focus primarily on private instruction, offering lessons for strings, woodwinds, brass and piano. In addition, it will offer chamber music coaching for suitably matched trios and quartets of students, encouraging them to make music together under the guidance of a private coach.

The schedule is as follows:
Fall Semester: Sept. 8 - Dec. 15, 2012
Spring Semester: Jan. 19 - Apr. 27, 2013
Summer Semester: May 11 - June 15, 2013
All lessons will be held on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Workman Hall on the campus of Eastern University at 1300 Eagle Road in St. Davids.
