Eastern University Responds to Typhoon Haiyan Devastation

St. Davids, PA, November 13, 2013: The Eastern University community is responding to the devastating typhoon that struck the Philippines where thousands have been killed and many more displaced. A community prayer service for the country and those affected was held at Chapel on November 13. A percentage of the total gate for the Basketball home opener, the highest attended game of the year, will be donated to World Vision to help alleviate suffering in the Philippines. There will also be opportunities to make contributions on the night of the contest.

At the annual Thanksgiving Chapel held at St. Davids, the offering is being sent to World Vision for relief to help displaced individuals and families suffering as a result of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
In addition, many students, faculty and staff are seeking other tangible ways to help with relief efforts.
