Steve graduated from Eastern University in 2001 with a B.A. in English Literature and a minor in Astronomy. In 2002 he returned to Eastern to supervise the Bradstreet Observatory working on many research projects in collaboration with Dr. Bradstreet. Under Dr. Bradstreet, Steve has helped research over 50 binary stars. Much of the research has been published and more stars are being observed and analyzed each semester, typically with the able assistance of Eastern undergraduate students.
Steve also has a passion for digital art and design. With a focus on high quality illustrations and 3D videos on astronomical topics using Blender, Steve has produced an array of educational videos. These videos aid in the planetarium which has also become a major part of his job. Teaching astronomy with the dual projector Spitz SciDome planetarium quickly became one of Steve's favorite parts of the job. He and Dr. Bradstreet teach planetarium professionals from all over the country each summer at the Spitz Institute in Chadds Ford, PA.
Steve married his best friend, Lauren, this year (2018) and they are enjoying married life together as they establish their home.
