Eastern University Talent Development

Talent and StrengthsQuest at Eastern University

Eastern University is very pleased to use the StrengthsQuest system of strengths development, part of Gallup’s Education Practice, to help students discover their God-given talents and how to turn those talents, through time and practice, into strengths.

What is a talent?  What is a strength?

Talents are naturally recurring patterns of thoughts, feelings, or behaviors that can be productively applied.  Strengths are the ability to consistently provide near-perfect performance in a specific tasks.  When talents are developed over time through practice, they become strengths.

What is StrengthsQuest?

Your StrengthsQuest journey begins with a 30-minute online assessment, the Clifton StrengthsFinder. This assessment has helped more than 9 million people around the world discover their talents and is used by more than 600 schools in North America.  After learning about their Top 5 Signature Themes, students learn how their unique talents can help them succeed academically, explore career options, and lead in their communities.

How do I purchase a code to take the Clifton StrengthsFinder?

Please contact the Office for Talent and Career Development at careers@eastern.edu or call 610-341-5827.  Codes are $9.99 per person, and includes the online Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment as well as the online StrengthsQuest book.

I took the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment and now know my Top 5 Signature Themes.  How do I learn more about developing my strengths?

The Office for Talent and Career Development will offer Strengths Events during the fall and spring semester.  Check our Career Events page for details.
