Upon Admittance to Eastern
Academic Scholarships or Opportunity Grants for Incoming First-Year, International or Transfer Students up to $15,000. ¬†Students who apply to Eastern are considered for an academic scholarship or grant upon acceptance. ¬†Scholarship amount is based on class rank and/or high school cumulative GPA, SAT scores, references and essay(s). ¬†Transfer students are also eligible with the inclusion of official college transcripts. The President's Prestigious Programs
After Admittance to Eastern
National Scholastic/Achievement/Hispanic Award+
$16,500.00 - Students who have been recognized as finalists or semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (PSAT scores) will be awarded a scholarship of $8250.00 per semester (max. 8 full-time semesters). Limited number available; requires the completion of a yearly FAFSA. Renewable through annual criteria.
The Templeton Honors College Grant+
$15,000 to Full Tuition. Students admitted into the Templeton Honors College cohort will receive a yearly grant ranging from $15,000 to full tuition from Eastern University. Students who have excelled and want to be challenged academically are encouraged to apply. Indicators of academic excellence: a 3.9 GPA or ranking in the top 9% of the high school class, or 1350 SAT, critical reading and math, or 30 ACT. The Leadership Fellows Grant+
$14,000.00. Eastern awards multiple Leadership Grants on a competitive basis to first-year students. Students who have at least a 3.3 GPA and can demonstrate previous leadership are encouraged to apply. Grants are for $14,000 a year and are renewable annually if all program requirements have been met. ¬†LF Grant replaces any existing academic scholarship/grant that was received upon original acceptance to College of Arts and Sciences. The Goode Scholars Scholarship+
$14,000.00. ¬†Annually, the Goode Scholars Scholarship at Eastern will be awarded to twenty first-year students from urban areas. To be eligible, a student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or rank top 30% in class and be service-minded, with displayed leadership abilities. Grants are for $14,000 a year and are renewable annually if all program requirements have been met. The Goode Scholars Scholarship replaces any existing academic scholarship/grant that was received upon original acceptance to College of Arts and Sciences. Print the GSS application. Email GSS.
The Howard Fellows Grant+
$14,000.00 - The Howard Fellows Program has been created in honor of Dr. Harold Howard, who promoted the use of technology through higher education at Eastern. In honor of his legacy, the HFP program is geared towards students of high academic aptitude and prior demonstrated ability in areas of marketing technology (such as, but not limited to; web/graphic design, content management systems, Facebook, other social media, video editing, and blogging). Recipients of this grant will perform technology projects in collaboration with project coordinators of Admission/Marketing departments at Eastern. The Howard Fellows Grant of $14, 000 per year replaces any existing academic scholarship or grant that was received upon original acceptance to the College of Arts and Sciences. Academic Major Scholarships
Business Major(s) Scholarship
Up to $2000.00. ¬†Prospective Business majors who report an SAT of 1100 (CR & M) or above, may be eligible for a business scholarship upon acceptance. ¬†Business majors include Accounting and Finance, Economic Development,¬†Entrepreneurial¬†
Criminal Justice Major Scholarship
Up to $2000.00. ¬†Prospective¬†Criminal Justice¬†majors¬†(only)¬†may be eligible for a¬†criminal¬†justice¬†scholarship upon acceptance.¬†¬†Apply online¬†and list¬†the criminal justice¬†major in the "major field" to find out eligibility.¬†
Up to $1,500.00. Potential dance majors may qualify for a limited number of Dance Scholarships ranging from $500-$1500. Contact the Dance department to arrange an¬†audition¬†at 610-341-1739.
Up to $5,000.00. Music majors must audition before April 1 to be eligible for a limited number of scholarships ranging from $500-$5000. ¬†To make an appointment for an audition call the music department at 610-341-4397. Youth Ministry Major Scholarship
Up to $2000.00. ¬†Prospective¬†Youth Ministry¬†majors¬†may be eligible for a¬†Youth Ministry¬†scholarship upon acceptance.¬†¬†Apply online¬†and list¬†the¬†Youth Ministry¬†major in the "major field" to find out eligibility.
Distinguished Transfer Scholarships
David and Valerie Black Scholarship+
$12,500.00. For transfer students from community colleges; must be admitted to Eastern and commute from your home address and have a 2.75 GPA from your previous college work. This scholarship is in place of your original scholarship received upon acceptance and represents the full amount of Eastern aid you can receive (although you may also qualify for state and federal aid, including loans).
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship%
Up to $2000.00 - Offered to members of Phi Theta Kappa transferring to Eastern University from community college.¬† Valued at $1000 - $2000, amount varies by CGPA.
The Faith, Reason and Justice Distinctions
Arthur Hill Scholarship+
$12,500.00. ¬†Open to graduates of private, faith-based high schools; must be admitted to Eastern and commute from your home address. This scholarship is in place of your original scholarship received upon acceptance and represents the full amount of Eastern aid you can receive (although you may also qualify for state and federal aid, including loans).
Up to $2,000.00. ¬†The Young Life Ballbach Fellows is a unique partnership between Young Life and Eastern University. ¬†If you participated in Young Life in high school, you may be eligible for $1000.00. ¬†If you are willing to take the Young Life/FCA leadership class, you may be eligible for another $1000.00. ¬†For full details on how you can receive any of these grants please contact Beth Pass.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Grant(s)%
Up to $2,000.00. ¬†The FCA Wadman Fellows is a unique partnership between FCA and Eastern University. ¬†If you participated in FCA in high school, you may be eligible for $1000.00. ¬†If you are willing to take the Young Life/FCA leadership class, you may be eligible for another $1000.00. ¬†For full details on how you can receive any of these grants please contact¬†Dave Hoger.
$1,000.00. Awarded to an entering student of a parent or grandparent who is an alum of Eastern University. Apply to EU today to see if you are eligible!
$500.00. ¬†Eastern University will provide a $500 Ministerial Discount for eligible undergraduates, ordained ministers, missionaries, or their undergraduate dependents for the current academic year.
The Matching Grants
Church Matching Grant^
If your church donates money toward your educational costs from its unrestricted budget and you have need, Eastern will match that money up to $1,000 for the academic year (if there is no need, then up to $500). Need is determined by the student filing a FAFSA.
Young Life Match Grant^
Up to $2,000.00. If Young Life donates money toward your educational costs from its unrestricted budget, and you have need, Eastern will match that money up to $1,000 for the academic year (if there is no need, then up to $500). Advent Christian Partnership
Berkshire Christian College and Eastern University have established an academic program on Eastern's campus that prepares Advent Christian young people to become the church's future leaders. Also, Berkshire is offering scholarship aid for qualifying students who enroll at Eastern. American Baptist Grants & Loans
Applicants must be a member of an American Baptist Church for at least one year before applying for aid, be enrolled at an accredited educational institution in the USA or Puerto Rico, and be a United States citizen. For more information call 1-800-ABC-3USA, ext. 2067 or www.abc-em.org.
The Eastern Financial Aid Office also has the right to modify your financial aid awards at any time during the award year. Some of the reasons this would happen are change of enrollment status, receipt of outside scholarship or loan, change in housing status, failure to make Satisfactory Academic Progress, or as a result of the Federal Verification process.
