Eastern's Master of Social Work (MSW) Receives Accreditation from CSWE

St. Davids, PA: Eastern University is pleased to announce that its Master of Social Work (MSW) program has received accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) for the next eight years.

CSWECSWE accreditation serves as an important indicator of quality graduate education and demonstrates the program's commitment to providing excellent training for future social work professionals. Founded in 1952, CSWE is the national association representing social work education in the United States, with over 800 members.

“Receiving accreditation from CSWE is a significant milestone for our University and Social Work Department,” shares Leslie Gregory, Social Work Department Chair. “It validates the quality of our online program and the strength and commitment of our faculty as we seek to prepare social work professionals. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the MSW students and graduates who placed their trust in us throughout this journey.”

Eastern University’s flexible and affordable, 100% online MSW program prepares students to be competent, advanced generalist social work practitioners who bring knowledge, skills, and compassion to a wide variety of careers. Theory courses are merged with comprehensive practical experiences in a variety of social work agency settings, where classroom knowledge is integrated into real-world experiences under the supervision and mentorship of accomplished professional social workers.

“We are incredibly proud to announce that our MSW program has received accreditation from CSWE, a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence in social work education,” shares Paul Felker, MSW Program Director.

Formed from a Christian worldview, Eastern’s MSW not only teaches individuals how to become competent practitioners, but also how to be ethically grounded in a spiritually-informed model of trauma-informed care. Practitioners are prepared to apply trauma-informed competencies in a wide variety of settings using spiritual meaning-making strategies that build upon the resilience of clients and constituencies.

“We are very excited to have received full accreditation for eight years with CSWE. It is such an honor to be affiliated with such a reputable accrediting body,” shares Tracey Greenwood, Dean of the College of Health and Sciences.
