Admittance Criteria

Eastern University expects prospective students to have followed a college preparatory curriculum during high school, including courses in English literature and writing, mathematics, physical & life sciences, and social studies. The University will consider prospective students for admission based on the following criteria:

  1. Class Rank: graduating within the top 50% of one’s high school class
  2. Successful completion of 4 years of English, 3 years of math, 3 years of science, 2 years of social studies 3 years of history*.

*This is a recommended curriculum for prospective students but is not required for all prospective students.

Prospective Students who do not meet the above standards but are highly motivated are invited to apply and may be asked to provide supplementary application materials before an admissions decision is made. These materials may include:

  1. SAT or ACT scores (optional).
  2. Grades from senior year.
  3. Letters of reference from teachers or guidance counselors.
  4. A personal essay responding to the Mission and Faith Statement of the University.

Do I need to submit test scores to apply to Eastern University?
Eastern University, long touting the motto of faith, reason, and justice, has made the decision to adopt a test optional approach to all undergraduate admission decisions for the 2023-24 academic year. A test-optional admissions policy means that test scores are not required for regular admission to the University.
