Madelyn Bernhardt
Madelyn Bernhardt is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience in outpatient mental health treatment, clinical supervision, and private practice. She currently serves as a Clinical Supervisor at an outpatient therapy center, where she supports clinicians working with children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. She also maintains a private practice, working with clients across a range of ages and mental health needs.
Madelyn earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Eastern University in 2016 and went on to earn her Master of Social Work from Boise State University. Returning to Eastern as an adjunct instructor feels like coming full circle. Her clinical work has reinforced her belief in the importance of empathy, meaningful connections, and helping people feel more in control of their lives. She believes the therapeutic relationship and the way social workers show up for their clients are among the most important tools in effective practice.
As an instructor, Madelyn enjoys sharing real-world experiences and helping students connect classroom learning to their work with clients and families. She hopes to create an approachable learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, thinking critically, and developing their own clinical skills. She believes social work is a lifelong learning process and that there is always more to learn, regardless of experience.
When she’s not working, Madelyn loves to travel, explore new places, and take on creative projects like sewing. She also enjoys spending time with her fiancé, family, and cat, and finding new places to explore around Philadelphia.
