By rolling out Gemini AI Pro licenses to all faculty and staff, we are seamlessly integrating Gemini AI across Google Workspace, demonstrating our commitment to the professional success and well-being of our employees.

Gemini AI Pro significantly reduces faculty and staff workload by automating routine communication and data analysis, providing cutting-edge tools for effortless document and presentation drafting, and offering dedicated coaching and curriculum guidance to ensure seamless technological integration. 

To meet this moment, Eastern introduced an AI Working Group in Spring 2024. This multifaceted committee includes faculty and staff representation whose dedication and proactive participation are vital in moving Eastern University forward during this critical initiative.

The primary goal of this group is to guide Eastern University in the responsible and thoughtful integration of AI into our teaching, learning, and university systems. This includes:

• Developing AI-infused curricula with human-centered, career-focused outcomes.
• Providing integrated training for faculty and staff at key touchpoints.
• Articulating a theological and ethical philosophy that ensures AI serves to amplify humanity and build character rather than replace it.
• Creating student focus groups to learn about learners’ needs, questions, and existing usage.
