Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology (www.psichi.org). Eastern University maintains an active Psi Chi chapter and inducts several students each year. In order to qualify for membership, students must meet rigorous academic criteria and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the discipline of Psychology. The chapter regularly participates in activities promoting the discipline of Psychology, scholarship in the field, and various service and outreach-related efforts.
Model Chapter Award
Our Psi Chi undergraduate chapter has received the Model Chapter Award from the International Headquarters 14 years in a row (2012-2025) for its engagement.
Ruth Hubbards Cousins Award
Our Psi Chi undergraduate chapter received the Ruth Hubbard Cousins Award in Spring 2025. This award recognizes one chapter each year who best and consistently exemplifies Psi Chi’s purpose, to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields and to advance the science of psychology. The Ruth Hubbard Cousins Chapter Award identifies a Society role model for other chapters and helps to promote the purpose and mission of Psi Chi.
