Dr. Hiles is retired from the corporate world, where he spent 45 years in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Education, and Software Development. He spent 10 years in software development and 35 years in project management. During his corporate career, he spent over 20 years as an adjunct instructor and previously served as an adjunct faculty member for the College of Business and Management at DeVry University, where he taught in their graduate project management program, utilizing face-to-face, online, and blended learning environments. He is also an Assistant Professor at Colorado Technical University, where he teaches project management courses in their MBA program.
Dr. Hiles enjoys teaching in Eastern’s online learning environment because of the outstanding support and collaboration from their faculty, staff, and the quality of students they attract. Students are engaged and challenged in a variety of project management courses that enable a diverse student population to participate, excel, and succeed in the business world.
He enjoys giving back to students by sharing his work experiences and lessons learned related to the subject material, guiding them through any misunderstandings, and taking every opportunity to learn something from them as they share their thoughts on the material or work-related experiences. Additionally, he delights in challenging students to think critically about various approaches and encourages them to be open to learning from one another.
