About the Department
Professionalism in the performance of its duties and accountability to the campus community are the top priorities of the Department of Public Safety. The Department maintains an excellent working partnership with the Radnor Township Police. Together they provide police / security services to the campus community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Crime in the area is monitored by sharing information with the police.
Eight full-time and two part-time public safety officers, a sergeant and a director are assigned to campus security and public safety. The officers are not armed and do not have the authority to arrest. Prior to employment, officers undergo a thorough selection process. Candidates for employment must pass a criminal record check by the state police, a background investigation, a psychological evaluation by a licensed psychologist, and interviews with the director and other administrators. We seek to recruit candidates with integrity who possess the skills necessary to function effectively in a Christian university environment.
