About the Advanced Standing Track
Students with a significant technical background in Calculus 1 and Python programming – including NumPy and Pandas – may be eligible for MS in Applied AI: Advanced Standing track.
How it works:
- Advanced Standing status allows you to reduce the number of required courses from 13 to 10.
- Advanced Standing students will not need to take 3 courses, DTSC 520, 575, and 580, which are part of the standard MS in Applied AI curriculum.
- Advanced standing students will complete a streamlined 10-course sequence focused on the design and ethical implementation of advanced AI systems. Each course is 3 credits, totaling 30 credits for graduation.
Cost & Details
- Location: 100% Online
- Delivery: Self-paced within 7-week online courses
- Length: As little as 10 months; 30 credits in as few as 2.5 semesters (6 credits per 7-week session)
- Enrolling New Students: New start terms every 7 Weeks.
- Cost: Total tuition & program fees combined are $9,900 for 2026-2027.
- Note: $9,900 is the total for all 30 credits in the program. Each semester, students only pay for each individual course on a per-credit basis.
Advanced Standing Eligibility
In order to be eligible for advanced standing, you must have:
- A Minimum Undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
- Applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0 will be considered on a case by case basis and must submit a GPA letter.
- Completed all the Application Steps for the MS in Applied AI
- Complete the Advanced Standing Readiness Quiz:
- After submitting the application, students will receive a link to complete the required quiz. Advanced standing will be determined based on quiz results.
