EU-Nova Engineering Fast Track Requirements

In order for students to finish their graduate education in 1 year at Villanova, it is most likely that they will need to take 3 Villanova graduate credits in their senior year at Eastern and then 9 Villanova graduate credits in the subsequent Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.

Students must be enrolled in Eastern University’s full-time BA in Mathematics program to be considered for this program.

Students must complete the required slate of courses at Eastern University (see Table 1),  and the undergraduate courses required at Villanova University (see Table 2) related to the chosen program of engineering study.  NOTE:  A total of 121 undergraduate credits (Including additional general education courses) are required to obtain the BA in Math from  Eastern University.

Students must score no lower than B- in any of these courses (from Table 1 and Table 2) and must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in these courses (not in overall GPA).  If the student’s cumulative GPA in the required EU courses falls below a 3.5, they will be placed on program probation for one semester.  If the probation semester does not raise the cumulative GPA to the 3.5 threshold, the student will be disqualified from the program.  At least 10 of the courses in Table 1 must be completed before the student can enroll in undergraduate engineering courses at Villanova University.

Graduate Admissions at Villanova

Students maintaining satisfactory progress in the BA program at Eastern University apply to Villanova University’s graduate program with preferential status.  It is possible to apply before the BA is completed, and to begin graduate classes during the BA program, schedule permitting.

Villanova’s College of Engineering reserves the right, in extenuating circumstances, to deny admission to the graduate program when a student is evaluated to be a poor fit for advanced engineering study.  In this case, the student will pay nothing for the Villanova undergraduate courses taken during the BA program and may apply, on the basis of these courses, to another Engineering program.

Program Costs

Eastern University: Students in the BA program pay standard undergraduate tuition and fees.  This will cover all costs related to the undergraduate engineering courses at Villanova.  Student aid is available for Eastern’s BA program.

Villanova University: Students in the MS program pay tuition and fees for engineering.  Each course if typically a 3 credit course for a total of 30 credits for an Engineering MS.   Student aid is available for Villanova’s MS program.

Please Note: Any student who fails to achieve the required academic outcomes in the BA program and thus is denied admission to the Villanova MS program must reimburse Eastern University for the costs of any Villanova courses taken during undergraduate study.
