In some instances, the Department of Education requires that the student sign and complete in person at the University a Statement of Educational Purpose. If they are unable to appear on campus in person, an Identity and Statement of Educational Purpose form may be completed with a Notary. By signing either of these forms, the student agrees to spend Federal Student Aid funds only on educational expenses and affirms that s/he is not in default on a federal loan or does not owe a grant overpayment.
