NOTE: Must demonstrate all of the four areas.

Snare Drum

1. Demonstrate Percussive Arts Society International Rudiments
2. Solo of at least a level 3 or 4 (with 6 being the most difficult)
3. Sight-Reading

Mallet Keyboard

1. Demonstrate major and minor scales and arpeggios 2 octaves
2. Solo of at least a level 3 or 4 (with 6 being the most difficult)
3. Sight-Reading

Timpani

1. Demonstrate tuning ability, various strokes, and rolls
2. Solo for 2 drums
3. Sight-Reading

Drum Set

1. Demonstrate various styles, including fills and trading time
2. Solo or prepared chart
3. Sight-Reading

Additional audition requirements are:

1. Interview
2. Scales and arpeggios in major and minor keys
3. Sight-reading and sight-singing
4. Musicianship evaluation

NOTE:  For international students, the interview may be replaced with an essay describing your background and goals.  A CD, DVD or digital file may satisfy the audition requirements as listed above when travel to the campus is not possible.
