The graduate program credit evaluator will help students develop a plan of study meeting the following conditions. All credits must be from graduate courses at the 500 level or above. A total of 30* credits is required for the M.Ed. degree.
Core Courses (9 credits)
EDUC 500 Foundations of Education (3 credits) or EDUC 517 Multicultural Education (3 credits)
EDUC 623 Curriculum Design (3 credits)*
EDUC 635 Research Design (3 credits)
* requires completion of EDUC 571, EDUC 572, EDUC 573 or EDUC 574 or Sufficient Teaching Experience
Concentration Area (21* credits)
Each M.Ed. student must complete a concentration of courses in the student's emphasis.
The concentrations are:
Early Childhood Education: PreK-4 grades
Middle-Level Education: 4-8 grades
Secondary Education: 9-12 grades
Courses fulfilling the emphasis vary according to the student's concentration area. The student should select these courses in consultation with their adviser and/or graduate credit evaluator.
