Mission Statement
The Student Chaplain program supports Eastern University's mission as a diverse Christ-centered ministry which equips student leaders to provide pastoral care and to nurture the spiritual formation of residential and commuter students.
What Student Chaplains do:
At their core, Student Chaplains are peer leaders who are dedicated to walking alongside you.
In their daily life on campus, you’ll see them:
- Live Authentically: They strive to live as examples of Christ in all their campus relationships, actively fostering their own personal relationship with God so they can serve you from a genuine place.
- Build Community: They are all about connecting with people. They take a proactive role in building meaningful relationships with students both within their own residence halls and across the entire campus.
- Be present for You: Whether they host weekly Grow Groups, collaborate with Residence Life or checking in on your spiritual and emotional well-being, they are looking for ways to support you.
What is a Grow Group?
Through Grow Groups, students from all over campus gather with our Student Chaplains to study the Bible and have honest conversations about things that really matter, like faith, forgiveness, purpose and relationships. With several different Grow Groups offered every week across campus, it is an opportune way to meet new friends from outside your residence hall, grow in your faith and build life-long friendships.
