    Frequently Asked Questions

    When is Orientation?

Orientation will be held August 24-27th, 2023. Students who were unable to attend Day One are required to attend Thursday, August 24th.

Will there be time during Orientation to set up a bank account, purchase books, or shop for needed items?

Orientation is a busy time of getting acclimated and meeting new people. The more you participate, the more prepared you will be for the year ahead. We recommend using time during your move-in day to accomplish local area goals.

Am I expected to participate in Orientation? What are the benefits? Do I need to register?

All new students are expected to participate in Orientation activities. Orientation is a time to learn about Eastern, how it functions, student life, academics, and begin making friends. No registration is needed. All students are automatically placed in an Orientation Group which is led by our dynamic upperclass Orientation Leaders.

What do I need to bring?

Orientation will be active and inter-active. We encourage you to dress comfortably, and bring a water bottle as it can be hot in August. Students will be expected to properly wear face coverings and engage in physical distancing and good hygiene. View "What to Pack" Information

Will meals be provided during Orientation?

All first year residential students are required to have the 21 Meal Plan. Meal Plans start on the first day of move-in, so be sure to bring your E-Card with you to the Dining Commons!
