Join us for an upcoming Beaker Brief with Eastern alumna Rebecca Hobbs '06, a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA®), as we explore the value of estate planning at every stage of adulthood. Rebecca will help us understand what estate planning really means, what we should be thinking about in different seasons of life, from age 18 and beyond, and how a thoughtful plan can help us care for the people and causes that matter most.

Join Eastern University alumni and friends in Charlotte for dinner, conversation, and a fresh look at what makes retirement truly fulfilling. In his presentation, “Don’t Flunk Retirement,” Rob McCord will explore the questions of retirement that financial planning alone cannot answer: how do we invest our time, talents, experience, and relationships once work no longer defines our days?
Drawing from a wide-ranging career in business, public service, philanthropy, and teaching—as well as his own experiences with success, adversity, and reinvention—Rob will offer an engaging and candid perspective on approaching life’s next chapter with purpose and intention.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Due to the limited availability and ticketed nature of this event, all cancellation and refund requests must be received by Monday, November 23, 2026. After this date, registrations and show tickets are nonrefundable. Refund requests received after the deadline may be considered on a case-by-case basis if we are able to fill the canceled space from a waitlist or otherwise resell the ticket.
Trip Logistics
Guests can park for free at Eastern’s St. Davids campus and travel together by motorcoach to New York City. Final departure times, the complete day-of schedule, and the designated Midtown/Bryant Park-area drop-off and pickup location will be shared with registered guests closer to the trip.
