Athletic Bands at Eastern
Founded in 2023, the athletic bands have quickly become a fixture on the campus of Eastern University. These performance ensembles promote school spirit and foster an atmosphere of community pride at sporting as well as other events around campus.
Sponsored by the Department of Music, the athletic bands have an all-inclusive membership composed of students representing a variety of academic concentrations and degree programs from colleges and departments across campus.
Marching Band
Performing primarily at home football games, the marching band is an integral component to the game day experience at Valley Forge stadium. In addition to providing in-game music, the marching band presents a themed field show at half-time during each game, as well as a pre-game routine at select games. Outside the stadium, the band is active in the community, performing at events both on and off campus.
The ensemble maintains an open enrollment and no formal audition is required; however, new members will be asked to play for part placement.
Pep Band
A select group of musicians, the pep band performs throughout the spring semester at indoor sporting events such as men’s and women’s basketball games as well as a variety of performance engagements in the greater community.
The pep band is a versatile ensemble that performs a variety of musical styles and genres utilizing primarily a modern New Orleans style brass band instrumentation.
Auditions for the pep band are usually held at the end of the fall semester and are open to students who performed with the marching band the previous fall semester.
