Jason Herrmann is a Philadelphia guitarist, composer, and educator with over 20 years of experience working as a professional musician. 

He attended Temple University where he received his Bachelor’s in Jazz Guitar Performance. While earning his degree he studied with Ed Flanagan, Craig Ebner, Ben Schachter, and Grammy award winning composer & pianist Bill Cunliffe.

After graduating, Jason dove headfirst into the local music scene. Over the span of roughly 20 years, he has been a part of numerous bands of widely varying genres (Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop, Funk, etc).

In 2015, Jason went back to Temple University where he earned his Master’s degree in Jazz Studies. This allowed him to further his career as an educator, and led to his position at Eastern University. 

Today, in addition to his time as an educator, Jason divides his time among several bands. He is the co-owner, guitarist and music coordinator for Elevation, one of the hottest and most in demand wedding bands in the area. He also leads his jazz/funk/fusion instrumental band JJIM, who specialize in playing well known songs and reimagining them in fun and funky ways.
