Jody Flecken

Jody B. Flecken is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Eastern University, class of 2005.  She also has a Master’s degree (1982) from Bowling Green State University in Higher Ed. Administration, and previously used this degree as Director of Student Development at a Community College in Pittsburgh, PA.  Jody started her career in Professional Counseling at The Peacemaker Center in Lionville, PA, a community-based center with a Christian foundation. Her work centered on individual, family and marriage counseling as well as providing supervision and teaching at local churches and community settings on topics related to communication, boundary issues, premarital counseling, and women in transition. Jody also assisted in the coordination of the annual fund-raising event which provided scholarships for those clients who were unable to pay the center’s full fee. Jody is currently working at SR&A, Shelby Riley and Associates in Chester Spring. SR&A is a small agency where she continues her counseling work in a family-based setting. Her theoretical approach focuses on a Psychodynamic approach including Strength Based and Solution Focused therapy, CBT, Person-Centered, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Psychoanalytic Therapy.   Jody specializes in areas including relieving anger, fear, anxiety and depression, improving marital and family relationships, improving communication and building intimacy, managing life transitions, resolving issues of trauma and abuse and fostering self-esteem and empowerment and well as cultivating personal and spiritual growth.
