Elaine Fuguet graduated from Eastern University with a degree in Sociology and Youth Ministry. After marrying and starting a family, she returned to school and earned a BSN from West Chester University.   Her specialty has been critical care nursing, working in the Intensive Care Unit at Phoenixville Hospital and Chester County Hospital, as well as five years as a traveling nurse in the ICU’s of ten different Philadelphia area hospitals. Fuguet continues to practice in the clinical setting, working as a weekend supervisor and a critical care flex nurse in the ICU and the Emergency Department at Chester County Hospital.

Fuguet started and worked as an adjunct clinical instructor at Eastern University for seven years, and completed her Masters in Nursing in Nursing Education. She moved into a position as a lecturer in the classroom in 2014, and also continues as a clinical instructor.

In addition to her nursing career, Elaine has been married to her best friend and fellow Eastern University graduate, Mike, for 30 years. They have traveled to all 50 states, mostly with a tent or camper in tow. They have raised 5 kids, including two who have also become critical care nurses! She also remains active in the Women’s Bible Study at her church.

Why I Teach at Eastern

I am so pleased to be teaching at Eastern University. I can fully represent myself in the classroom, integrating my nursing knowledge and my experience at the patient bedside, with my heart for God and my love of mentoring students.
