Eastern Named 2016-2017 College of Distinction

St. Davids, PA, July 28, 2016: Eastern University has earned national recognition as a College of Distinction for the 2016-2017 school year. This recognition was granted and featured by CollegesofDistinction.com, a website dedicated to honoring schools nationwide for their excellence in student-focused higher education.

"We are deeply appreciative of this recognition. It indicates that others have noticed the exceptional work of our faculty and student development staff as they have sought to nurture not only scholars, but diverse graduates who impact their communities in positive ways, reflective of our commitments to faith, reason, and justice." said University Provost, Dr. Keith Iddings.

“Schools designated as colleges of distinction create well-rounded graduates and are among the very best in the country,” noted Tyson Schritter, executive editor of Colleges of Distinction™. Colleges and universities are nominated for participation in Colleges of Distinction through high school counselors’ recommendations as well as quantitative research. Once nominated, the colleges are assessed using the Four Distinctions: student engagement, quality of teaching, vibrancy of the college community, and success of graduates. Colleges that have stood out in these areas and that have demonstrated dedication to enriching student outcomes through innovative learning opportunities are then invited to join Colleges of Distinction.

Eastern University was found to excel in all Four Distinctions and has a personal profile on the Colleges of Distinction™ website.
