St. Davids, PA: Eastern University is proud to announce the appointment of Kevin Gallagher and William (Bill) Golderer to its Board of Trustees.
Kevin Gallagher
After a nearly 35-year career at Sovereign Insurance Group, Kevin Gallagher retired as President in 2024. Prior to this role, he worked at both Grubb & Ellis Companies and Coldwell Banker. Since retirement, Gallagher has been engaged in personal growth and reflection including walking the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail.
Gallagher achieved his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware in 1987. His dedication to the community is shown through his involvement with numerous non-profit organizations and activities, including the Gift of Life Family House, Church of the Good Samaritan, Spruce Hill Christian School, Urban Promise, Salvation Army, Young Life, Kids on the Hill, and many more.
Bill Golderer
Bill Golderer is currently the President and CEO of United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, an organization whose mission is to mobilize the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good and expand opportunity for all. His passion for fighting poverty led him to this position and inspired a goal to decrease the poverty rate in Philadelphia by 10%. Prior to stepping into this role in 2018, he served as Senior Pastor at Arch Street Presbyterian Church, was a candidate for Congress, founded the Broad Street Ministry and Rooster Soup Company, and served as Founding Director for Religious Outreach at Interfaith Alliance. Golderer has always been on the front lines, creating community and driving change in the world.
Golderer earned an undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University and went on to receive a Master of Divinity from Yale University Divinity School in 1996. His dedication to God leads him to continue his pastoral work informally by regularly checking in with members of his community and serving as a Board Member for several organizations whose missions he believes in, including The Promise, Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia, and now Eastern University.
Both of the new appointees have been involved with Eastern for several years. Golderer served as the institution's commencement speaker in 2022, and Gallagher has been engaged in many initiatives, primarily in Eastern’s annual Eastern Cup fundraiser.
With their remarkable blend of professional excellence and faith-based passion for community service, Gallagher and Golderer are poised to play a key role in shaping Eastern’s flourishing future.
