Philadelphia Eagles star Carson Wentz joins Faith On The Field Show at Eastern University

St. Davids, PA: Eastern University and Faith On The Field Show are excited to welcome Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and tight end Trey Burton for a special live event on Wednesday, September 6 at 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Faith On The Field Show will feature a one-hour discussion with Wentz and Burton, who will share their experiences as professional athletes and men of faith. Wentz set a franchise and all-time rookie record with 379 completions last year. Burton, a fourth-year pro, had a career-high 37 catches in 2016. As professing Christians in the National Football League, the players will discuss how their faith impacts their lives on and off the field.

“It’s not just for the pastors to tell the world about Jesus,” Wentz recently said in a sermon he delivered at First Assembly Church in Fargo, North Dakota. “They can’t reach the majority of people that we can. We all have to work together to make a difference.”

Segments from the event will air on Faith On The Field Show on 610 Sports ESPN Radio. Media personality Rob Maaddi and Eastern University Senior Lecturer in Kinesiology, Doug Horton ’99, host the show, which debuted in April 2017. They’re often joined by Pastor Phil Moser.

Maaddi, a long-time Associated Press sports writer, author and radio/TV personality, has built relationships with many Christian professional athletes over the years. Many of them have already been featured on the show, which focuses on the impact of faith in the sports world. In addition to his role as Senior Lecturer in Kinesiology at Eastern, Horton also serves as Program Director and Clinical Coordinator for the Athletic Training Education Program and Director of the Life Fitness Program. He brings specific insight from his experience in these areas to the show.
