Eastern University Offers University of Valley Forge Students Supportive Transfer Partnership

As the University of Valley Forge closes at the end of this summer, Eastern University will serve as an official transitional partner supporting students, administrators, and employees during this time of change. Through alternative pathways, continued educational opportunities, and personalized support, we are committed to facilitating a smooth transition to those considering their next steps at Eastern University.

Eastern University President Ronald Matthews shared the following statement:

“While our Eastern community is saddened by the closing of the University of Valley Forge at the end of this summer, we extend our heartfelt support and a warm welcome to those exploring new opportunities at Eastern. 

For nearly 90 years, our two institutions have shared a similar heartbeat – to equip students for lives of impact through rooted, Christ-centered education. We recognize the profound sense of loss this closing brings – not only to the UVF community, but to the broader world it has faithfully served. 

As we consider the mission of UVF, “to prepare students for lives of service and leadership in the church and in the world,” and Eastern’s mission “to prepare graduates to impact the world through faith, reason, and justice,” we see an alignment that by God’s grace this deep loss and mourning can be transformed into redemptive possibility. We are committed to walking alongside our UVF brothers and sisters in this season.

While we recognize that this transition may bring a measure of uncertainty and confusion, we are deeply prayerful, hopeful, and committed to supporting both incoming and current UVF students as they move forward toward a bright and promising future.
