St. Davids, PA: Eastern University is pleased to offer students a clear pathway to a career in pharmacy. Through Eastern’s new partnership, qualified students are guaranteed entrance into the Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) for their distinguished Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. TUSP is one of the oldest pharmacy schools in the country, and offers a customized doctor of pharmacy degree through elective tracks in areas such as clinical trials and drug safety.
Eastern is also offering a new pre-pharmacy major in Biochemical Studies, which students can finish in less than four years. This degree includes all courses necessary for pre-pharmacy, and is recognized as exceptionally preparing graduates to proceed seamlessly into the professional pharmacy program at Temple. With Eastern’s free summer online FastPass program, pre-pharmacy students can finish their undergraduate degree in as little as three years.
While some colleges have developed complicated 3+4 articulation agreements that depend on graduate coursework for undergraduate degree completion, Eastern’s FastPass program allows students to complete the pre-pharmacy degree program in a little as 3 years already. This also means that students are not locked into pharmacy if they change their career goals; they can still pursue advanced degrees in other areas such as pharmaceuticals and public health, or find technical jobs in healthcare and the chemical industry.
With Eastern’s convenient location in the Philadelphia suburbs, pre-pharmacy students can easily hop on the nearby regional rail into Philadelphia to visit TUSP for tours, seminars, and meeting pharmacy faculty to prepare them for their transition into graduate school.
