Bioethics provides a framework for assessing the moral dimensions of biomedical research and practice, while Medical Humanities cultivates the narrative competence required for contextualizing patients' stories and heightening perceptual acuity.

Eastern's pre-pharmacy major in Biochemical Studies includes all the courses necessary to prepare for a graduate degree in pharmacy at the vast majority of pharmacy schools throughout the country. Eastern students can benefit from our partnership with Temple University that guarantees qualified students entrance into the Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) for their distinguished Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. 

The BA in Health Sciences program is designed to allow students to develop a scientific foundation for the study of the human body, focusing on the structure and function of the body in conditions of wellness and disease. 

The Pre-Athletic Training Track prepares students for careers in the field of athletic training. 

The BS in Exercise Science program at Eastern University prepares students for entry-level exercise science careers, involving people on a broad continuum of health and physical fitness and in a wide variety of settings. The Exercise Science program is formed on the biological and physiological sciences and focuses on human work, which encompasses recreation, athletic competition, occupation, and medical therapy.


The Traditional Pre-Licensure Program at Eastern University offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and prepares graduates who can safely provide professional holistic nursing care for patients and are generalists in varied clinical practice settings. BSN students will learn to incorporate Christian values and ethics into all areas of nursing, in order to know how to meet the needs of their future patients. BSN students will gain hands-on experience in Eastern’s on-campus Nursing Clinical Resource Laboratory and off campus clinical agencies.

Eastern University has also developed a program to help students who have non-nursing bachelor’s degrees prepare for a nursing career in as little as two years of full-time study.  The BSN (Pre-Licensure) is a second degree nursing program that prepares the student for a career as a baccalaureate-prepared nursing professional. Equipped with a previous degree and the prerequisites, the student enters the program as a junior BSN student. 

The Pre-Medical track is designed to prepare students for further study in Medicine. Pre-professional programs are areas of academic interest (not a major) for students who intend to enter a professional school after graduation with their bachelor’s degree from Eastern.  Students must still select a major while also pursing a pre-professional program.  Identifying the pre-professional program will enable the student's pre-professional advisor at Eastern to provide the student with a wide range of support to realize his or her next step of graduate school and vocation.

Pre-professional programs are areas of academic interest (not a major) for students who intend to enter a professional school after graduation with their bachelor’s degree from Eastern.  Students must still select a major while also pursing a pre-professional program.  Identifying the pre-professional program will enable the student's pre-professional advisor at Eastern to provide the student with a wide range of support to realize his or her next step of graduate school and vocation.

The Pre-Podiatric track can be combined with another major to prepare students for further study in becoming Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPMs). DPMs strive to improve the overall health of their patients by focusing on preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions associated with the foot and ankle. They treat a variety of conditions and employ innovative treatments to improve the well-being of their patients.
