The Certification in Middle Level is committed to the task of equipping its graduates to comprehend and apply the knowledge, concepts, and skills essential for successful middle level instruction, grades 4-8. The program is designed to promote the delivery of a high quality teacher preparation program which is aligned to the state academic standards. The intent is to produce new teachers who will understand and successfully apply learning principles in the classroom. The needs and interests of middle level students and their schools are at the center of the program.

The successful completion of the Supervisory Certificates program will prepare students to provide supervision within a specified instructional or educational service area of the curriculum or school program.  The Supervisory Certificate programs are offered only at the graduate level. Candidates must hold certification in the same area as the Supervisory Certificate they are seeking and have completed five years of satisfactory experience in the area of the Supervisory Certificate.

Eastern University’s Special Education program strives to train highly qualified teachers who facilitate student learning, inspire student motivation, and encourage socio-emotional growth with a Certification in Special Education (PK-12). With the shortage of special educators in our state and nationwide, our teachers can fill the gap and ensure students have access to their expertise.

Special Education Certification (Adult Accelerated) is designed to help working adults become certified to teach Special Education in PK through 12th grade classrooms.
