Eastern University’s fully online Master of Social Work prepares students to be competent, advanced generalist social work practitioners who bring knowledge, skills, and compassion to a wide variety of careers.

At Eastern, a BA in History provides a broad knowledge of history with special skills in critical analysis, research, and writing.  Coupling strength in European and American history, our students develop a Christian interpretation of the past and the present.

The purpose of the BA in Global Studies and Service at Eastern University is to prepare students for Kingdom work in cross-cultural settings.  Anthropology provides ethnographic skills and an understanding of culture; missiology clarifies the gospel of Jesus and the mission of God. Together, the two disciplines create a unique degree that emphasizes the dialogue between Christ and cultures.

Political Science is further a gateway to advanced studies in law, international relations, global studies, advocacy, public policy, public administration, international development and more.

Whether working in business, education, medicine, social work, the ministry or any field, a person will confront issues arising out of governmental actions and public policy. Whatever major you choose, a minor in political science will be a good complement and provide you with more knowledge about how government impacts our daily lives.

The BA in Psychology at Eastern University provides students with a strong foundation in psychology to prepare them for careers and/or further graduate studies in the field. Students have the opportunity to work closely with dedicated faculty members and take a variety of courses in areas such as clinical/counseling psychology, developmental psychology, and research methods. All majors have the opportunity to complete an applied internship and/or undertake an independent senior thesis.

Since psychology is a "hub science," Eastern University's minor in Psychology is a popular complement to many undergraduate majors. The psychology minor consists of 18 credits in psychology.

The BSW in Social Work at Eastern University educates students to be knowledgeable and skilled general social work practitioners, compassionate agents of God’s mercy and justice in meeting common human needs, with particular attention to people who are vulnerable, oppressed, and living in poverty.

The BA in Sociology—with its broad scope of study topics including social problems, group relations, urban dynamics, social institutions and justice, immigration, social inequality and stratification, family systems, majority/minority relations relations, religion, and others—offers students skills that will enable them to be effective agents of transformation in any sector of society. Jobs are often found in social services, community development, the non-profit sector, international relations, education, business, and research. The BA in Sociology is a valuable asset in the pursuit of a fulfilling career in improving human flourishing.

Eastern University's minor in Sociology includes courses in contemporary social problems and socialization and group relations, along with introduction to sociology and three other sociology courses. These courses complement any major.
